IMOD Research Experience for Teachers

The IMOD Research Experience for Teachers (RET) is a summer program for high school chemistry or physics teachers and community college instructors.

RET participants will engage with IMOD researchers, to be immersed in trailblazing research. The interdisciplinary nature of the Center means that we have a broad scope of research, from synthetic chemistry where we are building advanced quantum materials, through techniques to combine these materials to construct optoelectronic devices, to the integration of these devices into advanced communication and computing applications.

The RET program includes:

      • Small teacher cohorts
      • Graduate student mentors
      • Stipend $4,000 per 3 week block

As part of this program participants will develop lessons that translate current research, science, and skills for the classroom while building relationships with local graduate students for visits and labs for fieldtrips.
