IMOD Programs

IMOD has created a portfolio of education and outreach-driven programs with deep roots in our science and engineering research. Most academic research programs has a strong focus on the development of the specific technical skills of the student. IMOD programming builds on this, harnessing the collaborative Center-based experience of our trainees to offer expanded training including Team Science, Science Communication, Science Education and expanded professional skills.

The aim of our programming is not only to provide a more holistic training experience for our members, but also to connect to broader public audiences. We have programs aimed at a range of knowledge levels, from K-14, through undergraduate and graduate students, to professional researchers and the broader public. Woven into the foundations of our programs are the goals to develop the skills of the IMOD community, reach wide audiences and share the exciting concepts of quantum science, develop mechanisms to rapidly share our discoveries across a range of knowledge level, and really impart a sense of enthusiasm about the interdisciplinary research we are doing to those who might pursue a STEM career in the future.

We are excited about the amazing research we are undertaking and the future impacts of advances in optoelectronics on society in general. We want to share this excitement with as many interested audiences as possible!

Check out the different programs we have developed below, and find some ways in which you can engage. Most of the programs include information on how you can connect to us. If you can’t easily find the information you need, please don’t hesitate to contact us, we are always eager to connect.
