IMOD Education and Outreach
Central to the IMOD mission is the training of our members to be highly effective at communicating the exciting research we are performing to industry, schools and the public. We believe that the research being done in IMOD has the potential to transform sectors of society, from communication to computation, and we want to educate a wide range of audiences about the innovations and discoveries funded by the NSF.
IMOD has built features into our portfolio of programming to achieve these goals. Communications training in our Professional Development Program provides a framework of skills for our IMOD members to use across a range of knowledge levels. Our formalized Outreach Ambassador Program, Quantum-LEAP, lowers the barrier to participation by offering tested and refined grab-and-go kits for IMOD trainees to use at schools and science fairs. Our Quantum Education Portal acts as a public facing repository of the educational resources we have developed, from downloadable Quantum Activity Packets, through professional training videos for undergraduate and graduate students, to lecture course designed for advanced students and early career professionals.
We believe that by training our members to be effective educators and communicators we will arm them with skills to set them up for future success and we will, in parallel, educate and connect to a wide range of audiences in schools and the broader public.
We are always excited to connect with communities who are interested in finding out more about the exciting quantum science at the core of IMOD. Take a look at our different programs, they all include information about how you can connect. Not finding what you are looking for? Contact us! We look forward to hearing from you!
