As parts two and three of the “Getting the Job” series, held on 10/09 and 10/16/2023 respectively, put together by the IMOD Community Engagement Group (CEG), IMOD trainees received advice for how to effectively shape snd tailor their resume for a specific job or internship.
Dr. Gaeun Seo from the Georgia Tech Career Center used IMOD-specific examples to address some of the more general concerns and questions, including:
- Why should I have a resume and not a CV?
- Core structure / outline with examples
- How to get my resume noticed by employers.
In the second session trainees applied these approaches by sharing their resumes, used a resume checklist, and asking questions to improve their resumes for apply for specific academic and industrial positions.
