Rachel Gelfand is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder, working in the Jonas Lab. She completed her Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the Pelton group, specializing in spectroscopic studies of nanoscale materials. Her work includes experimental and computational work on metal nanoparticles, semiconductor quantum dots, and light-harvesting molecules. Rachel holds a B.S. in Physics & Astronomy and a B.A. in Japanese Culture from the University of Rochester.
