This lab introduces students to quantum key distribution, a fundamentally way to share a secret key using single photons. Students transmit an encoded image of their choice. The lab also introduces the concepts of single photons and random number generators. It utilizes the qutools quED system however could be adapted for any two photon source parametric down-converted source or a single photon source on demand.
