Part 10: Conflict is normal

Disagreement should be encouraged in a team environment, especially in a scientific research team. Constructive disagreement, and normalization of questioning ideas, is a great way to provide voice to different perspectives and ideas. We talk through a couple of strategies that you can use to help your team normalize disagreement and questioning and how you can promote ideas and new perspectives.

This series is adapted from a hybrid and in-person series delivered by IMOD in early 2025. Participants in the series engaged in discussion around these topics and earned a LinkedIN certificate.

This series draws primarily on two sources. The NIH Collaboration and Team Science Field Guide and the Strategies for Team Science Success Handbook. We have also drawn from a number of other key sources.
