The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was award to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus, and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.: A panel of researchers from the UW Department of Chemistry, including IMOD Members Prof. Brandi Cossairt, Shaun Gallagher (PhD student in the Ginger group) and Jessica Kline (PhD student in the Ginger group). The panel gave a presentation that explored the history, context, and future impact of this work, and then opened the floor to a wide ranging Q and A session.
