While the opportunity to be part of a geographically dispersed research Center provides many benefits, including bringing together a wide range of expertise and perspectives, sometimes there is a need to get folks in the same room together and talk through the plans for the coming year.

In September, the IMOD Community Engagement Groups (CEG), our student-led community team identified that many of their leadership were coming together in New York City, and decided to take advantage of this co-incidence.

Aman Agrawal (CU Boulder) was visiting Yuzuka (Columbia), and Esteban Rojas, Victoria Quiros, and Martin Gomez (Georgia Tech) were visiting Serena Zachariah and Agneya Dharmapalan (CUNY). Yuzuka, the NYC regional representative for CEG, came up with the idea to get everyone together for a dinner.

This was a great opportunity for the team to get together, build relationships and think about their plans for the coming year.
