The IMOD Annual meeting is an opportunity each year to both review and reflect on our progress from the previous year, and to brainstorm and plan our path forward for the next year. In August of 2023 the team came together, with members from everyone one of our geographically disperse locations attending, to participate and engage with their colleagues.
The opportunity to meet, in person, is so rare for such distributed teams, that activities are intentionally planned that benefit from in-person engagement. In addition to scientific and professional development presentations, emphasis is placed on breakout discussion sessions, with topics focused both on scientific research and the Center’s broader impacts. Poster sessions provide a great opportunity to build connections, and with over 30 different posters presented over the two-day meeting, the discussion was intense.
Gathering input from the whole community we developed new ideas on how to move forward both the research discussion and ways in which we can more broadly engage the team in our integrative activities.
