On December 8, 2023, the UCLA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry honored Prof. Kit Cummins (MIT) as the recipient of the ACS 2023 M. Frederick Hawthorne Award in Main Group Inorganic Chemistry.

The symposium included a poster session, talks, and reception, which were held in the new Collaboratory Conference Center.

IMOD Member Brandi Cossairt, who completed her Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Cummins at MIT, was one of six speakers who presented at the symposium. The talk entitled “Taking a Closer Look at the Structure, Surface Chemistry, and Conversion of Atomically Precise Semiconductor Clusters”, presented some of the collaborative work that the Cossairt group are engaged in as part of IMOD.
