2022 OMS^3 Onboarding course cohort
The Optoelectronics Materials Synthesis, Spectroscopy, and Systems (OMS^3) course is a signature integrative activity for the IMOD community.

This week long course, held at the University of Washington between August 15 – August 19th 2022, combined training in lab techniques relevant to all three of the IMOD research thrusts. It also included a comprehensive set of professional development workshops, including topics across science communication, effective mentorship, team science, and publishing.

This year we had over 30 participants, travelling from each of the IMOD partner institutions. It was a great opportunity for the trainees to come together, many meeting each other for the first time in person, and work in a creative and problem solving collaborative fashion. There was some great team building opprotunities, as well as the chance to develop a common scientific language and to share and discuss each others projects.
