Each year the Materials Research Society elects a class of Fellows, recognizing outstanding contributions to the field of materials science, including research, leadership, and service. It is intended to be a lifetime recognition of distinction in the field. In 2024 the MRS elected only 15 individuals as fellows, one of whom was IMOD member Dmitri Talapin (University of Chicago).

Dmitri was recognized for his innovation in the synthesis of nanomaterials, his contributions to the field of nanoparticle self-assembly, and his pioneering research in nanocrystal devices.

Congratulations Dmitri!
