IMOD Faculty member Juan-Pablo Correa-Baena has been recognized by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation as a member of the 2024 class of the Sloan Research Fellowship.
This prestigious and highly competitive fellowship recognizes early career faculty members who have made brilliant contributions to their field. The Foundation states that they seek to support exceptional researchers “Whose creativity, innovation, and research accomplishments make them stand out as the next generation of leaders”.
The 2024 Fellowship class includes 126 early-career scholars, from across Chemical, Computational, Earth Systems, Economics, Mathematics, Neurosciences, and Physics disciplines. With 22 Chemical faculty members recognized this year as the most promising early-career researchers working today.
Juan-Pablo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at The Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on understanding and controlling nanoscale chemical structures in low-cost semiconductors as foundational materials for optoelectronic devices. His team also specializes in the development and application of advanced techniques for characterizing these materials and their interactions and properties.
