The American Physical Society created it’s Fellowship Program in 1921 to recognize members who have made advances in physics through original research, or made significant innovative contributions in the application of physics to science and technology.
Fellowship is a distinct honor signifying recognition by one’s professional peers, and each year no more that 0.5 % of the Society’s membership is recognized by election as a Fellow.
In 2023 there were a total of 153 Fellows recognized across all divisions, and IMOD Faculty member Vinod Menon was elected. Nominated by the Division of Laser Science, Vinod was recognized for important contributions to the fields of photonics and polaritonics, in particular at the interface between condensed matter physics and optics, and for extensive service to the community and general public.
Congratulations Vinod!!!
