Gordana Dukovic named a 2024 Brown Investigator

May 2024

The Brown Institute for Basic Sciences at Caltech announced the 2024 class of Brown Investigators. Eight distinguished mid-career faculty, who are working on fundamental challenges in the physical sciences were selected, including IMOD SEED Member Gordana Dukovic.

Mercouri Kanatzidis elected as a 2024 National Academy of Sciences Fellow

May 2024

In 2024 the National Academy of Sciences elected 120 members and 24 international members in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research, including IMOD Member Mercouri Kanatzidis.

Elsa Reichmanis elected as a 2024 American Academy of Arts and Sciences Fellow

May 2024

The American Academy of Arts and Sciences, founded in 1780, recognizes and celebrates the excellence of its members. In 2024 250 new members were selected across 31 areas of expertise, including STEM, social science, arts and humanities, policy, and communication. IMOD member Elsa Reichmanis was recognized as part of the 2024 cohort.

Brandi Cossairt elected part of the 2023 Class of American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellows

April 2024

AAAS elected 502 new fellows in this class, recognizing their “scientifically and socially distinguished achievements” in science and engineering. IMOD Member Brandi Cossairt was honored for her contributions to the development of nanoscale materials for applications in energy and advanced electronics.

Dmitri Talapin selected as a 2024 Materials Research Society Fellow

April 2024

In 2024 the MRS selected 15 individuals as Fellows, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the field of materials science. IMOD Member Dmitri Talapin was selected for his innovation in the synthesis of nanomaterials, his contributions to the field of nanoparticle self-assembly, and his pioneering research in nanocrystal devices.

Elsa Reichmanis receives the 2024 ACS Award for Encouraging Women in Careers in the Chemical Sciences

March 2024

This ACS award recognizes the work of individuals who have stimulated or fostered the interests of women in chemistry, promoting their professional development and their development of careers in chemistry or chemical engineering. IMOD Member Elsa Reichmanis was selected as the 2024 winner.

Juan-Pablo Correa-Baena elected to the 2024 Fellows Class of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

February 2024

The 2024 Class of Fellows includes 126 early-career scholars from across the chemical, computational, earth systems, economics, mathematics, neurosciences, and physics disciplines, and recognizes early career faculty who have made brilliant contributions to their field. IMOD Member Juan-Pablo Correa-Baena was a elected a member of this cohort.
