Candidates are being sought for a postdoctoral position at the University of California, Merced. This is an NSF-Funded project, with Anne and David Kelley as co-PIs, that aims to use the polarization of resonance Raman scattering and photoluminescence to examine the symmetries of the excitons in II-VI semiconductor nanocrystals, particularly the higher-energy excitons that are difficult to access by other techniques.
The project will involve synthesis of nanocrystals in a variety of sizes, shapes, and compositions, as well as spectroscopy. We are looking primarily for someone who has expertise in nanocrystal and / or inorganic synthesis, but prior experience with laser spectroscopies is also useful.
Applicants seeking further information are encouraged to contact either Anne or David Kelly directly by email. The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
